Who knew that hip hop would have such political influence when it started a little over 50 years ago? At one point, politicians were trying to ban the music from even being released. Now, they need hip hop artists in order to win elections. Maybe that may sound great, but it also means that there is no such thing as “personal politics” for hip hop’s most prominent artist.
